I began my journey about 20 plus years ago with yoga to help calm and relax me. I decided to give yoga a shot. I will admit that at first I was sure I was NOT going to like Yoga. My mind moved at about 100 miles per hour and it almost stressed me out more when I was at yoga thinking about all the things I should be doing instead, but I stayed with it and in a very short time I was looking forward to my yoga time. I added Pilates to my practice a few years later because I was having lower back pain. I was told to try and strengthen my core. I haven’t had back pain in years. Then soon after that I was introduced to Reiki. Reiki is amazing energy work also known as hands on healing. I started training to provide Reiki to others and over time became a Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master and a Karuna Reiki Master. Soon after my youngest was born I was offered the opportunity to teach yoga at the YMCA. I had never honestly thought about teaching, but after the fist class I was in love. I went through my yoga training and received my RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) in 2008. Soon I trained in PIlates also. I taught at the local YMCA for about 8 years, and for a studio for 2. During my time at the studio I was introduced to Thai Massage- also known as lazy mans yoga. I was then had the opportunity to train in that. It was a wonderful addition to my tool box. I also began doing personal training to be able to give that one on one attention. Then in November 2016 I ventured out on my own and opened Breathe Relax and Renew. I have since then finished my RYT 500 Certificate and my 100hr Warrior Kids Certificate. ( Kids Trauma Informed Yoga). It has been a wonderful journey so far . I hope to learn and grow even more as the years go on.
